Maxwelltown Community Park "Celebrating Health, History and Community"
The Maxwelltown Community Park started in 2008 with a group of community leaders wanting to construct a park in an area of Manistee that really had no public park space. This was before RIGHTside design was even thought of, but Brandon Jensen was one of the original 7 members of the park committee that was charged with the design, brand, and marketing for this project. With a 5 year implementation plan in place, there is still much to do, but so much has already been accomplished. Today, you will find people using the parks new pavilion donated and built by the congregation of Faith Covenant Church or kids exercising on the outdoor exercise equipment.
So far, the project has had over $60,000 in donations and more is being pledged in the coming years. This project has been a privilege to be a part of, and it is exciting to see the community truly embrace this once barren field.
